INA260: INA260

Part Number: INA260

Is there an impact on current sensing connecting the VBUS pin to IN- instead of IN+ ?

Thx & regards

MW

  • Hi MW,

For all practical purposes, there is no difference connecting to IN- versus connecting to IN+.

Connecting to IN- excludes the shunt voltage from the Bus voltage measurements, and the resulting Bus voltage is the actual voltage dropped across the load. As a result measured power is closer to the power actually delivered to the load.

Given that shunt voltage is much smaller than Bus voltage in most applications, connecting to IN- or IN+ makes little difference.

There are other minor differences of even less importance, they can be ignored. You have the freedom to connect to either.
