INA237-Q1: what delay should i expect in the latching of the alert pin during a shunt voltage overload?

Part Number: INA237-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA229,

Hi team,

trying to figure out the timing on the open drain alert pin. in the event of a shunt voltage overload condition, what kind of delay should we expect on the alert pin?

how long does the overload need to persist to trip the alert pin?

Thanks,

Kevin

  • Hello Kevin,

The INA237-Q1 is still in prototype, so this information has not been put in the datasheet yet. However, the alert pin will behave the same for this device as the INA229, which has been released.  The INA229 has a section about alert response timing (8.2.3 Application Curves), which I think you will find helpful. Note that the plots on this page are with one conversion only.  If you have more conversions enabled, then the maximum response time will take longer.

Let me know if you have any more questions after you look over this section, but I think it should answer all of your questions.
