Hello Saurabh,
The following page summarizes the "E/G" differences:
https://www.ti.com/support-quality/environmental-info/logo-product-labeling.html
The biggest difference is the lead plating. This is shown in the "Quality Information" section of the devices:
LM2901DR (NIPDAU or SN)
LM2901DRG3 (SN)
So ordering the "G3" version ensures that you get tin (SN) plating. The "Non-G" is sourced from multiple assembly sites and the plating can vary depending on the site.
Electrically and physically they are identical - except for the leadframe plating.
Hi,
Thanks for the information
For part# LM2901DRG3, is there is nickel underlayer below Sn?
Also what is the shelf life of the G3, E4 & G4 components?
Hello Saurabh,
Please see the following pages.
https://www.ti.com/support-quality/environmental-info/lead-free.html
https://www.ti.com/support-quality/environmental-info/lead-finish-tin-plating.html
The lifetime is shown "MSL rating / Peak reflow" section of the product folder.
https://www.ti.com/store/ti/en/p/product/?p=LM2901DRG3
or from the quality page
https://www.ti.com/quality-reliability-packaging-download/report?opn=LM2901DRG3
It states "Level-1-260C-UNLIM", which means Level 1 moisture sensitivity, 260C max reflow and unlimited shelf life.
The the G3, E4 & G4 are all "Level-1-260C-UNLIM".
Documents are not very clear.

Thanks for the shelf life time details.
