OPA2835: unused channel

Part Number: OPA2835

Hi Supporter

How to deal with input and output of OPA2835 unused channel? Thanks!

Regards

Daivd

  • Hi David,

one way is to wire the unused OPAmp as unity gain follower (-input to output) and connect the +input to a potential that does not violate the common mode input voltage range, which can be 0V here, for instance.

But if the OPAmp is no output rail to rail OPAmp and cannot follow at output the 0V of +input, this can make the unused OPAmp draw more supply current than usual. If you are unsure whether the OPA2835 behaves this way, connect the +input to a potential between 0.3Vand 1.5V.

  • Hi David,

Just to be clear, you don't plan on using the second channel of the OPA2835 at all?

Second are using the DGS package (VSSOP) or the D package (SOIC)?
