I bought the evaluation board for the AFE4400: AFE4490SPO2EVM. I downloaded the software from TI:

www.ti.com/.../afe4490spo2evm;tisearch=Search-EN-Everything#Technical Documents

The GUI is not working in any of the three laptops installed.

I tried the solutions presented in:

e2e.ti.com/.../1538971

with no recourse. Higher ports (anything above 16 up to 200) doesn't make a difference.

I still get the same Device Communication error

Closing the thread since the issue was resolved.
It was a COM port setup issue.

First of all you got to verify that the COM port is correctly set up. You can look at it by checking your Device Manager.

If there is nothing installed for the AFE44xx..., then you have to install the USB driver which is located in the TI folder inside the Program Files x86 folder. Search it up until finding the folder related to the USB driver.

You might have to update the firmware for the evaluation board.... but for that I charge a meal... :-)

Thank you so much. But it still didn't work although USB port shows ok and AFE GUI shows 'connected'.
Actually when I tried to download the firmware to the board, the board can not be detected by the AFE GUI.

Qingxue,

If the AFE GUI shows 'connected' then the PC has recognized the board is connected. Have you tried updating the firmware without the GUI?
