ADS52J90: ADS52J90EVM

Part Number: ADS52J90

Hi,
I am currently testing the ADS52J90 EVM, and I realized that in the datasheet the analog input signal is recommended to be between 0 - 70 MHz range.
Somehow, I was not aware of that (mentioned only once in the datasheet).
My signal can go up to ~180 MHz (was hoping to do under sampling because my signal is narrowband).
I would really like to get your help on this, and know what are my options.
It says in the datasheet that performance will be degraded above 70 MHz. Can you please provide me with any characterization plot for the signal above 70 MHz? Or give me a bode plot of the low pass filter that the signal will be passed through. I would really appreciate your swift response.
Thanks,
Gerard
  • Hi Gerard,

The ADS52J90's input signal path is designed for a max input frequency of 70MHz from Page 9 of the datasheet as its input circuitry was made with low power applications in mind. Unfortunately, we have no data that shows how the device responds to frequencies higher than 70MHz.

Figure 54 in the datasheet shows the data we have for device performance at high frequencies.

One possibility I'll have to talk to the device designers about is high frequency performance in 8 channel mode vs 16 channel mode. What exactly is your application?

    Sincerely,

    Olu
