ADS52j90 interface with TSW14J56

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS52J90

Hi,

I started working on the ADS52j90 and TSW14j56. I followed there user manual to interface them. All the softwares are downloaded and boards are connected too. However, I am get this error in the attachment?

I dont know what is the source of error. I tried reinstalling both GUI after deleting them ,exactly the way as per the instructions but could not get rid of this error. Can you explain me what could be the error?

Also about the external clock, what is the input voltage and frequency of clock that i need to use. eg if i am providing 100khz frequency sin wave to one of the channel as input  , what should be the parameters of the clock i.e. freq, amplitude , waveform to acquire that signal?

Thanks

Mohsin

  • Hi Mohsin,

This issue is with the TSW14J56 board and HSDC Pro GUI.
Typically error 1097 occurs for the following reasons:

    1. When the firmware is not downloaded.
    2. When the power supply to the board is not adequate. Power supply should be 5V and about 3A.
    3. Loose contact of USB connector on the TSW board.
  • Hi Praveen,

Thank you for your reply . I think the problem is not either of the three. My firmware is downloaded, the power supply is adequate and USB is connected fine. Please see attachment. Since both the boards are connected , i dont think the problem is with usb connection or supply. The moment I select my ADC , error 1097 pops out.

    Please guide me further.

    Thank you

    Mohsin

  • Hi Mohsin,

The firmware will be downloaded only after selecting the device. In your case I think the firmware is not downloaded as the interface type is empty (" "). If it has been downloaded successfully, the Interface Type should be showing “TSW14J56REVD_FIRMWARE” as shown in the below image. Could you please re-check if the power supply connections are intact and if it is reading 5V and 3A.

    Best regards,

    Srinivas

  • Hi Srinivas,

I changed my power supply and everything works fine now. My only question is what clock should I give , just to see a 100khz sine wave signal at channel one? Please let me know the parameters, for that matter any parameters and inputs , so that I can capture something on my DAQ and see it in the GUI?

    Regards
