Hi,
Tried the DRV8825EVM hooked up with the Windows tool, CPG004 R1P1 version, however it does not seems to work. Tried with the DRV8821 tool, CPG003 instead and it works. Does anyone faces similar issue?

Richard

Hi Richard,
What problems are you exactly facing? Is it a lack of communications? Or is a problem with the device not driving the motor?
Also, what OS are you using? Windows XP or Windows 7?
Best regards,
Jose Quinones
Hi Jose,
The OS is Windows XP. Kindly refer as below on both the results of Windows Application (CPG003 and CPG004) by using the DRV8825EVM. Thanks.
Case 1: When using the windows application found on the CD for DRV8821 (i.e. CPG003_DRV8821EVM-DRV8823EVM_R1p0.exe), the EVM can communicate.
Case 2: However, when using the windows application downloaded from TI website (i.e. CPG004-5_DRV88xxEVM_R1p1.exe), the connection failed (see box in cyan).

Richard
Hi Richard,
Did you try sending a second message on the DRV8825 EVM software? On this platform I am not sending a command when the CONNECT button is pressed, so there would not be an acknowledge to turn the text box green as with the DRV8821 EVM software. Any subsequent messages, however, should turn the box green. Sorry for the inconveniences caused by this behavior.
Best regards,
Jose Quinones

Hi Sopatopa,
Have you tried the GUI that is provided in the DRV8825EVM folder? If so, what problems did you have?
Hi Rick,
Thanks for your reply.
When I install slvc502a and execute setup, I get the following error.
<error message>
An error occurred while downloading a required file.
I can not use GUI, after this message.
I think slvc502a can be used only after windows 7.
Is there GUI for Windows XP?
