DRV10983-75 application issue

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV10983EVM

I have a DRV10983EVM Developer Kit and am having trouble getting the computer software (DRV10983-75) to run.  It will open, but none of the menu buttons work in the GUI, and when I click 'run' I receive an error stating "The VI is not executable.  The full development version of LabVIEW is required to fix errors."

Note: I have installed the National Instruments LabVIEW RTE 2010 SP1 32-bit.  I am running a Windows 10 computer and have already attempted removing all TI and NI software and reloading, without finding the fix.

To me this seems to be indicating that the LabVIEW RTE thinks the TI software has an error and therefore LabVIEW will not run the code even though it displays the GUI menu.

I have noted a similar issue by another user already in the forum that has gone unresolved.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks

  • Hi Kevin,

We will notify the experts on the GUI. While waiting have you tried changing the LabVIEW RTE to run in Windows 7 compatibility mode?
  • Hi Rick,

I have attempted running the DRV10983-75 application in Windows 7 compatibility mode, however I am having trouble finding the LabVIEW RTE in the Windows 10 compatibility troubleshooting tool (it is not listed as a program) or finding via a File Explorer search for the applicable .exe file to select compatibility mode for. I have attempted to reinstall the RTE with the setup running in compatibility (Windows 7) mode, either way with the installation indicating success.

I am still unable to get the DRV10983-75 to run, even though the GUI opens.

I will wait for additional troubleshooting support, please let me know if there is any information I can provide.

    Thanks,

    Kevin

  • Hi Kevin,

GUI was released before Windows 10 was released, so we didn't ran test with it. We will definitely release GUI which is compatible with Windows10 in future.

Meanwhile can please elaborate on the issue ' I am still unable to get the DRV10983-75 ti run, but though GUI opens'

Can you please check whether you are applying 24 V to EVM ?

Do you see 'connected' on bottom right corner ?

    Regards,

    Krushal

  • Hi Krushal, Yes, I am applying 24V to the EVM, however I understand the GUI should at least display the settings menus even if I were to attempt to run without the EVM connected (so long as the simulation box remains checked).  Either way I am unable to open any of the menus.
