Hi,

I have project need to work on 85degC. I have some question.

Recommended operating temp = -40~+125. But...

When Ambient temperature = 25degC : The waveform is good.

When Ambient temperature = 85degC : The SDI(IC SDO) is bad. It can't feedback any signal and can't start up.

If we are change chamber temperature =79 degC. It will restore.

If we are cut pin10(DRV8301). When 85degC. same result.

Please ask the customer to confirm VDD_SPI and PVDD1 voltages are correct during this event.

Sorry for late.

DRV8301 25degC vs 85degC，PVDD1 and VDD_SPI signal waveform :

When 25degC :

When 85degC

Result : It haven't different.

DRV8301 : 25degC vs 85degC，nOCTW and nFAULT signal waveform

When 25degC

When 85degC

Do you have any test waveform could share to us when 85degC or higher??

Hi Pao,

In your testing above, have you been able to read the SPI registers at room temperature after the device comes out of the 85degC test?
In your room temperature test it looks like nOCTW is pulsed low. Are you able to read the SPI registers and determine what fault is being reported by this pin?
In your 85degC test, what is the voltage measured on nSCS? Is this being pulled low correctly at high temp?

Hi Phil,

Yes, If temperature drop lower 80 degC, It will recovery and can read the SPI registers.

Do you have any hgiher 85degC temperature test waveform, could share to us??

Is this device can working during -40~125degC, right??

Hi Pao,

The Recommended Operating Conditions for this device are between -40 and 125degC. However, if the internal temperature of the device die ever exceeds 150degC, the device will shutdown.

Are you able to confirm the fault being reported by the nOCTW pin? If you read the STATUS Registers after the DRV8301 is removed from the Hot Temp test, are any of the FAULT bits set?
