Stepper motor drive using cc2650?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2650, DRV8834

Hello e2e users,

I wanted to know if there is a way to drive stepper motor using the cc2650 (without using any external mcu such as msp 430)?

I am new to this community and a newbie in electronics.

Any help will be appreciated

  • Hi Mudit,

Yes, you can do this assuming the outputs of the CC2650 can transition from <0.7V to >2.0V.

Please look at the DRV8834. The minimum number of GPIOs needed is two (STEP and DIR). Typically nSLEEP or nENBL are used to disable the motor current and save power. Other inputs can be configured through hardware.
