TIDA-01547: Mesh Data collector and Node Software

Part Number: TIDA-01547

Hello,  I have seen Video "6LoWPAN RF Mesh Reference Design"  thanks for the information.

I am looking bit more information and software sources which are running on Mesh Node and Mesh Data collector.

Can you please point me more information about the same.

Thanks

  • Hi Rajiv,

What specifically are you interested to know more about? If you want to know more about the TIDA-01547, then reference the design page in question.

If you want to know more about different IEEE 802.15.4-based mesh solutions we provide, here is a short summary:

    • TI 15.4-Stack: 2.4 GHz & Sub-1 GHz star network, TI-made stack
    • TI-OpenThread: 2.4 GHz mesh network with native IPv6 connectivity, open-source stack
    • Zigbee/Z-stack: 2.4 GHz mesh network, TI-made stack
    • Contiki/Contiki-NG: 2.4 GHz & sub-1 GHz mesh network with native IPv6 connectivity, open-source stack

I recommend to do a Google search on each stack if you want to read more on them.

  • Hello Edvard,
Thanks for prompt reply ... I am looking for sub-1GHz 6lowpan mesh network support on CC1310 7x7

First support required to get software stacks used for demo "6LoWPAN RF Mesh Reference Design" video (www.ti.com/.../support

Second support required to get CC1310 7x7 2 layer design files with IPC (0850BM14E0016) solution ,
one more question -> If we are using PCB antenna then IPC will give long range or discrete components based?

Software side Demo indicating below software stacks, where should i get below with source code..

CC1310 Node having below software stacks for demo
     Sub-1Ghz frequency hoping based TI-15.4 stacks
 Top of that having mesh stack including
    o Simple application layer
    o UDP
    o IPv6/ICMPv6
    o RPL routing protocol

    Data collector include
     TI 15.4 stack software
     MSP432 running with 6lowpan mesh stack

    Thanks for your extended help...

    Thanks

  • I want to make this clear; TIDA-01547 is a demo software, not a TI product. The software provided with the design is provided as is, and we therefore do not provide any support for the design.

I might interest you to take a look at Contiki-NG, which can provide a fully fletched Sub 1-GHz 6LoWPAN mesh network solution for the CC1310. With Contiki-NG, we'll be able to provide support for you as well.

I'm not sure I understand your request regarding source code. Can you elaborate?

I can loop some colleagues of mine regarding your HW questions.

  • For reference on how to do the layout with the IPC, see www.ti.com/.../swra524a.pdf. You should also be able to do this on 2 layers, see our 2 layer reference designs (linked to in the app note) and insert the IPC.

The app note shows the conducted measurement results with the IPC. The IPC will give slightly lower link budget compared to a discrete design (compare with the datasheet numbers) and hence the range will be slightly lower. This: e2e.ti.com/.../375556 can be used to estimate range.
  • Thanks Edvard, We will look at Contiki-NG

Hello TER, not able to find out 2 layer design ref in swra524a.pdf , One more help needed for better range which type of PCB antenna should be used , please point me design files.

  • Sorry, I thought I had seen a link to 2-layer in the references but that was not the case. Go to www.ti.com/.../technicaldocuments and scroll down to Design Files for the reference designs.

For 868 MHz/ 915 MHz this www.ti.com/.../swra227e.pdf gives the best performance. Also see www.ti.com/.../CC-ANTENNA-DK2
  • Thanks TER for your help..
