Hello,

I have trying to build and run a simple use case which is about Capture, using built in ColorToGray algorithm, and Display.

my problem is that i just see a BLACK image on the screen, and i have no idea how to fix that.

please help and give some advice, more detail are in the following information.

    moreover, i want you know that i also built and run another simple use case which is Capture, FrameCopy(EVE1), and Display; and it works.

    i think it works because i can see the image on the screen.

    & It is clear 

    Capture is happening at 30 FPS & process frames to next link

    However colortogray algorithm receives frames at 30 FPS but not able to process frames further

    Because of this you are not getting any display

    Could you please check in use-case, if algId is set to ALGORITHM_LINK_DSP_ALG_COLORTOGRAY ?

    Also could you please confirm is there any modifications done in SDK site?

    1. just like what you said, i set the algid to ALGORITHM_LINK_DSP_ALG_COLORTOGRAY. is it incorrect?

    2. the only modification that i have made on ColorToGray AlgorithmLink is took off the dataformat check statement. the exactly code that i remove is down below.

    3. from what you said on the last reply, ColorToGray AlgorithmLink have received 30 FPS but because of some unknown reason so it is not be able to process the received frames and then turn it to next step(Display).

    am i suppose to look at the method Int32 AlgorithmLink_ColorToGrayProcess(void * pObj).

    i have tried SDK 3.1 and it works, i mean at least i can see the colorful image on the screen even it is not gray.

    therefore, i compare the plugin AlgorithmColorToGray between 3.1 and 3.3, and i found that the SDK 3.3 has extra code in the colorToGrayLink_algPlugin.c down

    below. as you can see and because of my input data format is SYSTEM_DF_YUV420SP_UV. so i won't get any output image from AlgorithmColorToGray Link.

    2. For seeing only color image with 3.2 please read below reply. Basically in colortogray plugin only SYSTEM_DF_YUV422I_YUYV is supported and for all others it simply forwards the frame. In VSDK3.3 we added check for input format and only if it is SYSTEM_DF_YUV422I_YUYV we process the frame else drop it and also assert in create function.

    3. Do you want to use SYSTEM_DF_RGB24_888 with alg colortogray? This algorithm doesnt support any format but SYSTEM_DF_YUV422I_YUYV for now.

    If you want to use RGB format with this plugin, you may need to modify it to support that format.

    thanks for your help, i have found the difference in ALGORITHM_LINK_DSP_ALG_COLORTOGRAY between version 3_1 and 3_3.
    what is really want to do is to Resize Down the Input Video and then Change the Format to SYSTEM_DF_RGB24_888.
    do you have any suggestion on this?

    you could use ISS register link or DSS WB M2M link to down scale input image to smaller resolution. 

    But for format conversion, you will have to use DSS WB M2M link. There is no other way.

    Would suggest using DSS WB M2m link for both format conversion and also for down scaling.
