PCM5122: Disable LDO

Part Number: PCM5122

Hi Team, seeking your inputs.

1. Is it possible to disable the on-chip LDO?

2. I use pcm5122 for i2s reclock for rasberry pi and wm8805, and not use analog out.
can I disable power suppy for PVDD or AVDD and keep working digital functions like i2s, i2c etc?

Thank you very much in advance for your inputs.

-Mark

  • Hi Mark,

    1. You cannot disable the LDO exactly, but you can provide both LDOO and DVDD with 1.8V supply, which will bypass the LDO output.

    2. You must provide all of the power supply inputs, but you can disable the analog output through the PCM5122 registers will save some power.

    Thanks,

    Paul
