PCM2906C: PCM2906C&TPA3144

Part Number: PCM2906C

I used PCM2906CDBR + TPA3144 in project, and when mobile terminal side play stereo audio source and output by USB interface, measured PCM2906C Pin 15, Pin 16 output same phase and same level waveform.

Then TPA 3144 no audio output.

I need confirm below items:

1. Any configured for PCM2906C output L channel and R channel signal phase have 180degree?

2. If PCM2906C no this configuration, any recommend solution for PCM2906 +TPA3144.

  • Hello Jove,

I am not sure I understand the question. Are you trying to have a 180 degree phase difference between the left and right output on the PCM2906?

  • Hi Aaron,

Yes, original solution the mobile terminal side with Qualcomm chipset, when play stereo audio source, chipset can output directl 180 degree phase difference to TPA3144, it's working normal.

Also when  Mono audio source playing, chipset also can output left side or right side output to TPA3144 also working well.

Now, new project should match with another terminal with USB output, so we select PCM2906C for USB to Audio converter(Also consider SPL rating, voice should louder), but i found when terminal play stereo audio source, PCM2906 left side and right side output same phase and level signals to TPA3144.

So there have any recommend solution for PCM2906 output 180 degree phase for left side and right side?

    Thanks!

  • Hi Jove,

Unfortunately, I don't have a good example. I don't believe there is a way to do this within the device itself. You may need to implement some external inverter on the output of the DAC itself.

  • Hi Aaron,

When PCM2906 connected to  OTG USB, and VBUS always existed, did the /SSPND should always high?

if i want to use suspend and resume function for PCM2906, for andoid system, driver side how can control this?

  • Hi Jove,

Suspend will be high when there is USB bus activity. When the USB bus activity stops, there will be a 5ms delay and suspend flag will toggle LOW.

Regarding using suspend and resume for an android system, I am not sure I can comment here as I am not and android system driver expert. Looking at it from a device standpoint, the suspend status is based on the USB bus activity.
