TLV320AIC34: Block A to Block B connections

Hi,

We were looking at TLV320AIC34 as an option for the CODEC on a new product and from looking at the GUI software for the part. Both in the GUI and the datasheet the CODEC is separated into block A and block B.

Could we get confirmation whether this part is unable to connect an input from block A to an output from block B and visa versa?

Hi Kian,

You can think of the CODEC blocks as two separate CODECs. It is definitely possible to connect an output of one block to the input of the other. Just please ensure that the input is AC coupled.

Hi Aaron,

Thanks for the reply. Is this something that can be done internally for the CODEC, for example for register values or would it require external circuitry to do this?

For example another CODEC we had looked at had a GUI where we could route the various input to output connections and it would give the register values needed to set this through a processor.
