PCM1690-Q1: About Thermal resistance

Part Number: PCM1690-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM1690,

Hi Team,

We would like to know the difference between Thermal resistance of PCM1690-Q1 and PCM1690(Non Q1).

I understand that ΘJA of PCM1690-Q1 is 23/W but I can’t find other parameters(RθJC(top),RθJB, ψJT, ψJB, RθJC(bot) ).

Could you please let us know the values of PCM1690-Q1?

<PCM1690-Q1 datasheet>

<PCM1690(Non Q1 datasheet)>

  • Hi Hide,

    Here are the thermal coefficients for the PCM1690-Q1:

    Thanks,

  • Hi Paul-san,

    Thank you for the information.

    I understand that PCM1690-Q1 and PCM1690(Non Q1) packages are the same so guess that thermal resistances are same.

    However, there is a little difference.

    We would like to know the reason.

    (For example, “Measurement error” etc.)

    I’d greatly appreciate your verification.

  • The thermal coefficients were generated at separate times, so our thermal model may have been updated.  In addition, the devices technically have different DIE and maybe have different mold, die-attach, and bonding options, which can effect the coefficients as well.  The coefficients are dependent on more than just the package itself.

    Thanks,

    Paul
