TPA3255EVM: No Sound

I am having a difficult time getting this amplifier to work. Test with the input from my cellphone worked without an issue but I am trying to build an amplifier for my Upright Bass. So when I connect it to my power supply and preamp I do not get any sound from the output.

It is setup as a 1-Channel PBTL load and I believe wired correctly. I setup an Oscilloscope and fed a signal into the input and am not getting any sound through the output. I shows 8.612V at the output with 0.00 HZ. I've attached pictures.

Please advise. I am new to using a scope but willing to learn.

Hi Mark,

Just to confirm, did you check the signal at the input of the TPA3255EVM to confirm the signal is reaching the input of the amplifier?

Can you send a picture of the entire TPA3255EVM?

And I'm glad to hear you open to learning how to use the oscilloscope! It's not the easiest piece of equipment to use but once you figure it out you won't forget!

Hi Robert,

Yes, the signal is being sent via signal generator with my Oscilloscope - Picture shows 5khz at input but 0 at output. I powered the amp with my SMPS and still got the same reading. Graph is from the input.

Hi Mark,

Just noticed your S1 was in "RESET". You will need to push the S1 to "Normal" to make the device into normal working mode. Thanks!

Yes, that worked. I want to ad a relay switch to handle that tak automatically - would I leave the switch in the Normal position, connect the relay to pin 10 and ground and set the relay to Normally Closed and low level trigger?
