TAS2557EVM: Test with PPC3

Part Number: TAS2557EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PP-SALB2-EVM, TAS2555, TAS2557

Dears

We have the TAS2557EVM and also the PPC3 software, after we install the software, and the EVM can be identified by the computer, just as the EVM guide showing, but the PPC3 can not identify the EVM, and also the EVM can not playing the music with the computer.

So we would like to know if we have missed some step? or we need the  PP-SALB2-EVM to make the EVM working to play music?

Thanks

Jun Shen

  • Hello,

The PP-SALB2-EVM is for characterization and is not required to just play music.

Can you confirm that the jumper settings on the EVM are as mentioned in the user's guide?

Thanks, and I have confirmed that the jumper settings are align with the user's guide, but still can not have the sound.

In the system , the USB-audioEVM already set as default music device, and when playing the music, the I2S have data output, but do not have the sound.

so maybe there have some enable function to enable the power amplifier?  after login to the PPC3, there have the TAS2555 EVM control software, but do not have the TAS2557.

We are wondering if there need some setting on PPC3 to enable the EVM? and also where can I find the control software for TAS2557?

    Thanks

  • Hello,

The TAS2557 GUI can be obtained by putting the device name in the software request form found here: https://www.ti.com/licreg/docs/swlicexportcontrol.tsp?form_id=317667&prod_no=PUREPATHCONSOLE&ref_url=HPA_Audio_AIP

Once that is approved, you will be able to sign in to your account through PPC3 and install the proper GUI.

In the meantime, using the I2C portion of PPC3, you could make sure the class-D output is powered up using the POWER_2 register:

Let me know if you have any issues with getting the new GUI setup and if that solves the issue.
