PCM5101A: I2S AC timing

Part Number: PCM5101A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM5101, PCM5100,

Hello Experts,

I would like to know detailed AC timing spec of I2S. There is no AC timing spec in datasheet. Non-A PCM5101 datasheet has it in datasheet, p13. (Figure 13 & Table 7.) Is I2S timing spec same as Non-A version?

Best Regards,
Fujiwara

  •  Hello, I am referring to Paul's answer to a question regarding differences b/w  and non-A version in the following post:

    https://e2e.ti.com/support/audio-group/audio/f/audio-forum/982893/pcm5101a-difference-between-pcm5101a-and-pcm5100

" The PCM5101A would  be compared to the PCM5101 (not PCM5100).  The x01 has 6dB higher SNR and lower THD than the x00.

The -A revision improved yield, added the 1.8V digital logic support, and improved startup/auto-mute pop noise.  The non-A version could have an offset on the output of >10mV, so when audio input was applied, that offset would be calibrated out.  That calibration can result in a click or pop noise.

The pop/click noise exists on both the PCM510xA and PCM510x, but it was reduced significantly in the -A version.

If the customer has a good external mute functionality and are not using 1.8V logic, then they could use the non-A version."
