TPA3221: TPA3221-EMC problem

Part Number: TPA3221

Hi Ti Team,

I have a soundbar project using TPA3221. EMC has exceeded the standard in many places.

1,Please help confirm whether the TPA3211 schematic diagram and output filter parameters are reasonable ?

2,Is it reasonable to output the PWM Layout?

  • Hi,

Yes, passing the EMC test two layer board is not easy...

    1. Could you show the 1uF PVDD decoupling cap placement? It should be placed as close as possible to the device.

    2. Could you share more about the RE test setup? What's the speaker cable length?

    3. The inductor used is also a checkpoint. Is it a shielding inductor?

    Thanks!

    Regards,

    Sam

  • Hi Sam,

    1. The filter capacitor 1uF PVDD decoupling is already placed close to the IC.
    2. The 3m shielded room standard venue for laboratory RE testing. The speaker cable length is 1m for the left speaker and 2.5m for the right speaker.
    3. The PWM filter inductor is a one-piece shielded inducto

  • Hi,

Have you got small capacitors (like 10nF) for the output connectors? These caps should be placed as close as possible to the connector pins.

You may also try to use shorter cable length and see if the radiated noise is related to the speaker cable.

    Thanks!

    Sam
