TLV320AIC3204: Question about current consumption...

Part Number: TLV320AIC3204

Hi Sir,

As datasheet, while operating with 3.3V, the current consumption in standby mode and sleep mode is 180mA and 50mA.

But for 1.8V, the standby current and sleep mode current will be 100uA and less than 1.5uA.

Is that correct for 3.3V current? Why the current for 3.3V is much larger than 1.8V?

Hello,

From the language of the datasheet it seems to be the case the internal LDO for AVdd is not capable of limiting current consumption in standby or sleep mode. This is why it more or less hints at using external 1.8V supply to avoid using it in order to achieve maximum flexibility.

I do not have speci1fic knowledge of this LDO issue but I can try contacting design team if it is more detail you want? But the App note is correct and there most likely wont be any fix besides the options provided in it.
