TLV320AIC3212: Sound getting played locally but no sound during call

Part Number: TLV320AIC3212
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM5728, TLV320AIC3104
Hi,
The driver for audiocodec tlv320aic3212 gets successfully registered on our custom board based on AM5728 SOC.
Both arecord and aplay applications are working fine for capturing and playing voice on the Custom board respectively.
But no sound is heard when a VOIP call is made using pjsip SIP STACK to LINPHONE application or to another custom board running the same pjsip application.
To summarize, neither the mic is able to send voice to the other endpoint nor the sound from remote endpoint is heard on the custom board with the audiocodec tl320aic3212 on board.
Also our custom board is based on AM5728 EVM. In the EVM tlv320aic3104 audiocodec is present which  works fine during audio call.
I know TI doesn't officially support TLV320AIC3212 codec.
But, I would ask in general  as to why the audiocodec device wouldn't work during a call but work when playing/recording  sound/music locally.
Please help in this regard!

  • I am sorry. At the moment we are not able to support driver related questions.

However it may be a possibility for you to try to look at the I2S waveforms on the codec  with an oscilloscope during the time you make a call. This may give some furthur insight
