TAS5825M: THD + N at more than 1% for a Mono 1.0 PBTL Configuration

Hello,

I have a TAS5825M, PPCMB and its PPC3 software. I loaded a 2-Band DRC and AGL, 96 kHz 1.0 process flow on my PPC3. I also modified the output of my amplifier A to get a MONO (PBTL) System. I applied the same parameters used for the Data sheet results but I get an extremely high THD (around 7%).

I don't know what could be the cause of this high THD.

Hello Kittry,

Can you show me your hardware connections and provide your PPC3 file. Also do you have a current limit on your power supply and can you provide a waveform of the output.

Hi Luis,

You’ll find attached the Stereo BTL System Application Schematic with the modifications I made (in red) to get the Mono PBTL configuration. I can't insert a .ppc3 file here but I loaded a 2-Band DRC and AGL, 96 kHz 1.0 process flow on my PPC3 software.

I have a power supply with a 5A current limit. I use the Audio Precision device for my measurements and the waveform is a sinusoidal signal but it looks completely distorted because of the high THD.

Hello Kittry,

Can you DNP L2 and L4 as well in your schematic and take the measurement again.
