PCM1792A: issue when digital power is off and analog power on ?

Part Number: PCM1792A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM1792,

Hello,

I have a question regarding right usage of PCM1792/A.

For a pcba design I use two power generators, one relative to digital and the other for analog.

Some time I want to switch off digital power when analog power is still on.

The bridge between analog and digital power are the DAC PCM1792A. Is there any recommandations for PCM1792 to have digital power off (pin 9) when analog power is on (pins 23,28,15) ? (for an infinite amount of time ?)

I already ask a similar question but opposite (when PCM1792A have analog off and digital on) and the answer was: no problem.

Thanks for support!

Best Regards,

Florian

  • Hello Florian,

There is no power requirement or sequencing in data sheet and based on functional diagram I do not see any issue with having analog supply up and  while digital portion is off.

  • Hello Arash,

Thanks for fast answer! Great to read PCM1792A can be powered on analog side while powered off from digital side.

    Thanks for support!
