TAS5825MEVM: PVDD short to gnd & PPCMB error: "unable to record audio"

Hi team,

I had two problems with EVMs.

1. I unboxed a TAS5825M EVM today and noticed that PVDD of TAS5825M EVM is shorted to GND. Have you seen this issue before? Please see below picture. Power supply says "CC".

For your information, Another EVM worked just fine with this connection.

2. One of my PPCMBs hardware check is not stable. Hardware checks passed with another PPCMB but that board with issue did not passed. I've uninstalled USB-AudioEVM driver but the issue is unsolved. Could you please help me resolve this issue?

Hi Jay

It seems that EVM at your hand is indeed defective. Some times we found soldering bridge between chip's pins, it's the processing problem. Maybe you can check the pins of every chip carefully to find the short circuit position.

Hi Jay

I think this may not be a big problem. It means PPC3 didn't receive I2S signal generated by our devices through USB. Sometimes may be you mute the device, or didn't choose the right signal source, or maybe your computer output volume is zero. It usually won't affect usage.
