Hi team,

According to the datasheet, I2S clock is necessary to program DSP register. "DSP register" is defined as DSP memory maps in TAS5825M Process Flows document, e.g. equalizer, correct?

Other registers such as MUTE, Digital Volume can be programmed without I2S clock, because it's just in HiZ mode, is that correct? The customer's MCU stops I2S if there is no audio playing.

Hi Kazuto

We don't think they can use it this way. Without the I2S clock, the DSP can only work under it's own internal clock, which frequency is far more slower. We can't guarantee it can still receive I2C command correctly.

About our customer's situation, how about let our device stays in HiZ state, until the I2S comes back.

I understood the host can program I2C register in HiZ mode without I2S clock except DSP register. Is that correct?

Other registers such as MUTE and Digital volume are in other block so that it can be alive without I2S?

Yes, if you only want to change the register in Book 00, you can do it without I2S. Like digital volume and Mute.

Hi Shadow,

So all of registers listed Table 6 as CONTROL PORT Register is in Book 00, it doesn't need sequence and I2S, correct?
