TPA3255EVM: Question about GVDD_AB and GVDD_CD filtering

Part Number: TPA3255EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA3255

Curiosity question related to the TPA3255 EVM Schematic, I noticed that on VDD a 10uH inductor was used but on GVDD_AB and GVDD _CD no inductors are used, is there a reason for this? They do have zero-ohm resistors there like they may have tried it but not used them on the final product. Did they try inductors there and it didn’t help anything or where these used for something else? If the original people that did the work are no longer at TI don’t waste time on this answer.

  • Jerry,

I can't find the original designer to get the answer. As VDD is for internal ldo of AVDD, which is supply of audio feedback loop and could impact audio performance such as Nosie, so a filter with 10uH inductor is used.  While GVDD is for power stage gate driver use, doesn't requires low noise,
