TPA3255-Q1: output PWM shock

Part Number: TPA3255-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA3255

Hi, I am using TPA3255 in PBTL Configuration. The output PWM have a big shock  in its rising edge, how did it come about and how to deal with it ? Thanks!

The Schematic diagram and  OUT_A  signal detect  are as below.

  • Hi,

You can add Zobel on output, teh zobel circuit is 10ohm+1000pF.

You can refer EVM board design(R59+C85):

  • Hi , I add zobel circuit, it did work. The input of  TPA3255 is float and  with reset pin  enabled. Also , it  is no load output when testing. Test  point is Out_A Pin.

The picture  above is test  without zobel circuit.

The picture  above is test  with zobel circuit( R=10ohm, c=200nF)

The shock  reduces  with using the zobel cicuirt, and I increase the capacity to  100nF, the P-P of shock  decreases  to 6.6V. But  the P-P of  shock doesn't  decrease  with the increase  of  capacity.  How do I adjust it if I  want to eliminate  the shock ?  Does the zobel cicuirt affect  the load response, my load is  a  2.2ohm  600uH Coil.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi,

The Zobel does not affect load response, but it will increase some idle current. Since the source is the PWM overshoot, it is hard to eliminate it totally. And it can not affect audio performance.
