Hi Team,

My customer is using TAS5719 for 8W 6 ohms design. The output filter is 22uH + 1uF in BTL mode. Fs either 44.1KHz or 48KHz.

They are measuring the SPL output from our TAS5719 using a 6 oihms resistor and realized the high frequency (10 ~ 20KHz) gin is dropping for more than 1.5dB. Is this expected behavior? Do we have the gain/phase vs frequency plot for TAS5717/19?

Any different in term of gain vs frequency between AD / BD mode setting?

Hi Sai

I think the cut-off frequency of your LC filter is a little low, may affect the sound band. Please try using filter as 15uH + 0.68uF.

We don't have gain vs frequency curve for this device, but usually the curve is flat until 20KHz.

AD / BD mode usually don't have a obvious affection on gain

In our filter design app note sloa119b, it shows the cut off frequency is around 31KHz with 22uH + 1uF LC filter, but the peak is -0.75dB at 20KHz.

So we should move the peaking at 20KHz to around 0dB to keep the gain curve flat?

Hi Sai

If you really need to keep the gain curve flat, you can do that. But usually we need to decrease the gain in high frequency, because it is easily to make the sound feel piercing.
