TLV320AIC23B: Inquiry

Part Number: TLV320AIC23B

Hi,

Good Day. I have a customer who is working with TLV320AIC23B. Please see below his query for your reference. Thank you very much.

I am using a TLV320AIC23B stereo CODEC as a slave, giving it BCLK, LRCLK, MCLK, programming all registers after power up. I don't see anything out of the DOUT. LOUT seems to follow LLINEIN with a little delay (e to e?). What are the do's and don'ts to get this chip going. How can I tell if the registers are getting programmed correctly? Are there any critical register bits, clock frequencies, etc. that would make it look non responsive. PS: DOUBLE CHECKED POWER LINES AND GROUNDS

Best Regards,

Ray Vincent

  • Hi Ray,

If they see LOUT output but not DOUT, this points to the register configurations.

    • Check if DAC is selected and bypass is disabled in register Analog Audio Path Control
    • Check if DAC is powered in register Power Down Control
    • Check register Digital Audio Interface Format
    • Check register Sample Rate Control
    • Check register Digital Interface Activation to be active

Depending on the mode, you can probe the control interface either the 2-wire or SPI lines and correlate the data see either section 3.1.1 or 3.1.2.

    Regards,

    Peter
