NE5532: Input voltage design of NE5332

Part Number: NE5532

Dear Team,

my customer using NE5332 for their product.

The Vcc-Max can reach 22V in the datasheet,

but I see that the recommended Vcc is up to 15V
We have a product Vcc that will use 19V DC, does any concern to use the 19Vdc input?

Thanks for your comment.

Regards,

bard

  • Hello Bard,

    The absolute maximum supply is 44V (22V - -22V)

The recommended supply is up to 30V (15V - -15V)

We have a product Vcc that will use 19V DC, does any concern to use the 19Vdc input?

If you mean +19V and ground then supply (19V) is fine, but keep in mind the NE5532 is not rail to rail input nor rail to rail output.

If you mean -19V and +19V then the design (38V) is in the margin between 30V test and 44V abs maximum. Be very certain that supply doesn't become larger including peaks and transients. It should work well, but it could be less reliable and shorter lifetime (compared to 30V)
