PCM1861: Requirements for sampling rate 192khz

Part Number: PCM1861

Hi TI experts,

Customer plan to design Audio ADC for supporting sampling frequency 192khz. they choose using PCM1861.

Main controller can't support 49.152Mhz to master clock of PCM1861.

I checked that external clock of X-TAL is max 35Mhz. Can I use external OSC as CMOS MCLK?

They try to use external 49.152Mhz OSC. is it possible? If yes, How do we connect the external OSC? (XO, XI, SCKI pin)

Please check it.

Thank you.

Downey Kim.

  • It looks that the external XTAL Chip gives a 3.3v Clock at 49Mhz as it works on a 3.3v Supply. I would suggest joining the output of this chip with a 22 ohm resistor to SCKI Pin which accepts 3.3v signals. XI can be ground and Xo can be left open.
