Dear Sir or Madam,

I'm using the TLV320AIC3254 EVM-K and since some tests I tried, it seems to be not working any more. When I plug some headphones, I can hear strange noise through the speaker, and the TLV320AIC3254 EVM-K seems to overheat. More precisely, component U6 seems to be overheating a lot.

Do you know what could be the problem ?

Hi,

U6 is an adjustable regulator LM317 which output is used in HPVDD (headphone VDD), maybe it's damaged.

You can remove U6 and try with external source for HPVDD. If sound is good replace U6, if it's bad maybe AIC3254 is also bad.

On the EVM there's this W18 jumper which you can remove to disconnect from U6, you can then provide 3.3V on TP32 instead of removing the U6 part from the board.
