INA1650-Q1: loop stability simulation

Hi team,

My customer want to simulate the loop stability(output oscillation, or not) of INA1650-Q1.

The PSPICE model and/or TINA-TI model can simulate it?

I questioned because I heard some simulation models for audio device covers only audio band frequency and the loop stability analysis is not accurate.

Hello,

The INA1650 model is a Green-Williams-Lis model. This is a behavioral model of the device. I have run a frequency analysis on the reference design and you can see the device frequency response goes beyond the audio band out to 100MHz. The customer can check their circuit for stability with this model.

Does it mean the simulation model can be used for output stability analysis with some capacitive load or so?

Is it same between PSPICE and TINA?

Hirai-san,

I was incorrect. This model does not work for stability analysis. I attempted to simulate different capacitive loads on the output. Ideally the percent overshoot in the simulation would follow the percent overshoot on Figure 19 in the PDS. It does not. I will consult with the team on the model however neither model currently support stability analysis.
