What's with TAS5727?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5727, TAS5727EVM, TAS5713, TAS5705

Hi all!

Texas: I must say, you guys are the best; your products, homepage, estore and everything is simply magical. The first time I went in, I had to pinch my self in the arm like three times to know I wasn't dreaming. I mean, free shipping samples delivered to my country within a week, wow! This, the way you greet customers and potential customers are simply outstanding and really setting an example for everyone else to see and learn from. Congrats on a job well done!

Anyway, I'm thinking of using the 2x25W TAS5727 digital amplifier for a project of mine since the chip seems to fit my needs perfectly. When trying to get more info on the chip, I found the datasheet links and others to be broken. Aslo when looking to buy the TAS5727EVM evaluation board for this chip, I find it beeing out of stock in the TI-estore.

The product is said to be in ACTIVE state and so I wonder what gives - is the chip brand new or is it the other way around?

Best wishes!

  • Hi, Hanz ibal,

Thanks for the kind words! We try...

As for the TAS5727, the product folder looks ok to me, and I successfully downloaded the d/s. Can you try again? Maybe it was a momentary glitch in the www

As for the EVM, this is a new device, and the initial demand took even US by surprise, so we sold all the EVMs we initially built up! (a good problem to have, I guess!). But, we expedited a rebuild, and they should be available in another week or two. If you can't wait that long, contact your local TI sales office, and ask them if they can get you one faster.

  • Hi Don and thanks for your swift reply (that too). You are correct, when I check now the supporting documents load just fine, so it must have been some kind of temportary glitch for the product folder of the chip itself. However for the eval board it's still not working properly for me - try viewing the board image for example.

I'm looking to order that eval board and a few other things as well, among which an eval board for the TAS5713 chip, but I'll be doing this through a local dealer so unfortunately you won't see my name on the order.

    Again, thanks!

  • TAS5727EVM is back in stock now. Thank you for your patience.

  • Thanks a bundle, that's really great news. Through a local dealer, I've ordered eval boards for both the TAS5727 and the TAS5705 chips plus some other really nice stuff. Can't wait to it all home and start working with them. I really like D-amps, great effeciency and great potential.

    Again thanks!

  • Hello again Don, this is just to inform you that I've sent you a personal message. I would be greatful if you could just confirm reception of that message.

As for the 5705, I've built a prototype based on parts of the 5705 eval board and it's really going well. I wish there was a way to sample eval boards too, but I understand that would be going a bit far in generosity from your part.

    Thank you for your time!
