Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA6138A2
Hi Team,
Does DRV632 can drive 16ohm load? if it can, what's the minimum output amplitude under the condition of VDD=3.3V,Load=16ohm, THD=1%. Thanks.
Best regards,
Yang

Hi Yang,
I would recommend to use TPA6138A2 instead, this is pin to pin compatible and it's rated for lower impedance loads.
If you need a combined operation for high and low impedance, I would suggest to evaluate both devices in order to decide which is better suitable for your application.

Hi Ivan,
Thanks for your reply. Does it mean that we are not sure whether DRV632 can be used for lower impedance load?
Best regards,
Yang
Hi Yang,
DRV632 is not rated for lower impedance loads, so performance may not meet data sheet specs.
So I suggest to evaluate the device for performance considerations.

Hi Yang,
Please consider DRV642 part, there may be an offline discussion about this so just want to make sure to use the correct part number.
Either DRV642 or DRV632 should work for 16 ohm load: https://e2e.ti.com/support/audio-group/audio-internal/f/audio---internal-forum/379202/drv632-as-a-headphone-amp/1335426#1335426

Hi Ivan,
thanks for your confirm. We still want to know what's the minimum output amplitude under the condition of VDD=3.3V,Load=16ohm, THD=1%. Could you check it?
thanks.

Yang
Hi Yang,
I'll try on the EVM and report back the results as soon as possible.
