PCM2707C: To convert USB to I2S with SRC4192

Genius 15509 points

Part Number: PCM2707C

Hi Experts,

Good day. Seeking advise on this query:

I want to use PCM2707 to convert usb to i2s. And then, I have to upsampling the i2s signal because the DAC that I want to use only allows 24bit 96kHz signal.

The problem is that SRC4192 can only tolerate 24bit signal but PCM2707 can only generate 16bit signal.

And I have watched some literacture that says i2s signal can allow low bit signal like 24bit imputs can allow 16bit signal.

Thank you.

Regards,
Archie A.

  • Hi Archie,

SRC4192 Supports 24-, 20-, 18-, or 16-Bit  Input and Output  ,  so you should be okay to use SRC4192 .

You can refer to table 3-2 in  SRC4192 users' guide  to set it up according to your need:

    for example:

    IFMT2  IFMT1  IFMT0     Input Port Data Format

HI        LO       LO        16–Bit Right Justified

HI        HI        HI          24–Bit Right Justified

OWL1  OWL0         Output Port Data Word Length

    HI  HI  16–Bits

    LO LO 24–Bits

I hope this answers you question.

    Kind Regards,

    Arash
