TPA3255: Overcurrent Limit Protection (Ioc) in PBTL mode

Part Number: TPA3255

Hello,

We are using a TPA3255 Class D Amplifier in PBTL mode. PVDD is set to 50.0 V and is supplied from a 700 W DC power supply.

Regarding Ioc specifications:

Resistor - programmable, nominal peak current in 1 Ohm load, Rocp = 22 k Ohm = 17 Amp typ

Resistor - programmable, nominal peak current in 1 Ohm load, Rocp = 22 k Ohm = 13 Amp typ

In PBTL, the output bridges are in parallel. Does this mean the Ioc limits in PBTL mode are approximately 2x the above limits?

I understand the output bridges won't share the load currents precisely. So a derating of the Ioc 2x is adviseable?

Thank you,

John
