PCM5122EVM-U: How to get EVM work without use purepath studio...

Part Number: PCM5122EVM-U
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SRC4392

Dears,

While connecting EVM and NB with USB cable, the system can detect new USB audio device attached.

However, I can't hear any sound from EVM output if I play music!!

What should I do to let EVM output?

Thanks.

  • Hi Peter;

    Let me take a look at it along its EVM and will come back to you by Wednesday.

  • Dear Sir,

    Any update?

    Thanks.

  • Hi Peter, sorry for not getting back to you yesterday. From your photo the jumpers are ok, not many jumpers anyway to deal with.

    If you refer to user's guide, you see the full schematics in there and you can track various signals for your debug.

    Track Din and various clocks that are coming out of USB and go to TAS1020  and then SRC4392. If you probe the Din ,CLK, LRCLK at the  test points on the Analog portion of the board, chances are you are not getting some of the signals coming to these test points ( W3 has array of jumpers that connects the digital side to analog side of the board and to these test points)

    If you don't see one or more of these signals you need to track them back and see where the I2S signals are not coming out correctly, your issue might be at output of SRC or output of TAS.

     I would also try it with other inputs and see if you still have any issue, just remember to modify the jumpers.

    Your title of the post says "how to get the EVM to work without PPC", so does it mean you tried it with PPC and EVM is working fine?
