Speaker and Dev Board Suggestion?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS2770, TAS2780

I'm looking to use a signal generator to do a frequency sweep using an Audio amp dev board and looking to output around 80 to 90dB. Any suggestions on a audio amp dev board and speaker that could accomplish this? I would like the amp to be efficient and can be class AB or D. No other specific requirements, 12V input would be nice but not required.

  • Hi Pete,

Perhaps TAS2770 or TAS2780 could be good options given the voltage rail available.
Regarding the speaker, it would closely depend on the application form factor, power requirements and we don't have a reference to recommend. I assume 80-90dB is SPL, so you should check the speaker spec, depending on the distance from the speaker, and the frequency to be played, you may need around 1W so don't really need to push the amplifier to the limit.

All the above is for digital input amplifier, if you're looking for analog input devices you may consider TPA313x or TPA311x.

You can directly check in our portfolio and filter by architecture, power level, type of input, channel count and other parameters.
