TAS6424-Q1: Drive two 20W 8Ω speakers in parallel with one channel

Part Number: TAS6424-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS6424

Dear team,

There is a need from my customer, need to drive two 20W 4Ω speakers using two channels of TAS6424-Q1, four 20W 8Ω speakers with other two channel, which is to drive two 20W 8Ω speakers in parallel with one channel. Can TAS6424-Q1 support this kind of application?

  • Hi Abrham

In theories, TAS6424 support this kind of using. There's something you may want to take care.

         1. The total power will be 120W, almost reach the max output power of TAS6424. Take care of the thermal.

         2. Parallel speaker may have some oscillation between themselves, the THD will be affected. And our device can't help with it.
