TPA3220: TPA3220 Master and Slave setting

Part Number: TPA3220

If I want to synchronize the frequency with two TPA3220, GAIN/SLV pin R1 and R2 to set the master and slave, what is effect the FREQ_ADJ pin all connected to 5V direct? I see datasheet slave device FREQ_ADJ connect to 5V,   the master device connect resister to GND.

  • Hi.

The connect method you post is wrong, this operation may cause the device work incorrectly. The master and slave devices work at the same frequency, which is set by the FREQ_ADJ pin of the master device, and the slave device needs to connect the FREQ_ADJ pin to AVDD to turn off the frequency setting. Please configure according to the recommended configuration in the datasheet.

The oscillator frequency can be selected by the value of the FREQ_ADJ resistor connected to GND in master mode according to the description in the Recommended Operating Conditions table. For slave mode operation, turn off the oscillator by pulling the FREQ_ADJ pin to AVDD. This configures the OSC_I/O pins as inputs to be slaved from an external differential clock. ---refer to the page 23 of the TPA3220 datasheet.

    Best regards.
