LM4871: Output Temporary Conflict

Part Number: LM4871

Hello,

I'm wondering what kind of impact could be expected on two LM4871s and a speaker when outputs of the two LM4871s are temporarily connected together.

An LM4871 is used on a card in a redundancy system. When the card is being replaced by another card without a system shutdown, the outputs of the LM4871s are temporarily connected together for about several 10 to several 100 ms. However, the output levels of the two LM4871s can be different because it's not a parallel drive.

I suspect a large output current could run through the outputs of the two devices, but I cannot figure out from the data sheet whether the two LM4871s could damage or the outputs could be protected.

Any feedback is appreciated.
