PCM1690-Q1: If PCM1690 can support 16 channel time-division-multiplexed(TDM) by connect 2 pcs of devices?

I'm FAE, I wonder if PCM1690 can support 16 channel time-division-multiplexed(TDM) by connect 2 pcs of devices, there is no related contents in our datasheet, but customer have this demands, could you help this? Thanks a lot!

Hi Daoyan,

Unfortunately the PCM1690 does not support daisy-chaining two devices together to create 16 channels.

Jeff, thank you, customer want 16channels TDM DAC, I don't see any in our roadmap, do we have some solution to achieve this?

Hi Daoyan,

We do not have 16 channels DAC in the road map, but in theory they can use 2 DACs in parallel, it is the same concept as digital muxing the input stream to various DACs.. However basically you are doing 16CH TDM and thus your clocking requirements need to be adjusted and checked against datasheet to be within the limits.
