TPA3255: Maximum load on DDV HTSSOP package

Part Number: TPA3255

Hello,

There are several discussion on E2E about maximum load weigh on DDV HTSSOP package for Heatsink attachment.

What is your package development team characterization result to secure lifetime reliability for "no package clack and no die de-lamination" ?

Is there application note DDV HTSSOP usage guide?  Long time ago I have seen such a document.

Which is correct maximum load number 90N or 100N?

Do we need to apply 50% guard band on mass production assembly?

Regards,

Mochizuki

  • Mochizuki,

There are several threads discussion about this. 90N is max stress to be applied.  I don't see a good document to guide this, while with this 90N number, it allow you go ahead with the heatsink design.

About guard band, it depends on mass production torque variation. This is out of TI scope.. probably customer is more professional on this.

I hope this answers your questions.
