TAS5756M: Using PurePath Console 2 without Eval Board PUREPATH-CMBEVM

Hello,

I'm new to PurePath Console 2. I have selected the target, configured the desired Audio Processing, and then when I click on the Direct I2C Read/Write tab, most of the top half of the display (particularly the Register Dump pane) is grayed out. 

Is it possible to dump the I2C register values without the PUREPATH-CMBEVM board connected?

I had hoped to dump the register values and then just write some custom code on a microcontroller to push the I2C register values to the DSP/amplifier IC.

I don't currently own a PUREPATH-CMBEVM board. Is the board absolutely essential to use PurePath Console, or is there some way of dumping the register values?

Apologies if this is a very basic question. I have been following the PurePath Console Online documentation and the Hybrid Processor user guide for the IC, but I may have missed this detail.

    Hi

    For PPC2, it doesn't have the function to dump the code or register value without EVM board.

    But if you just want to write some register value to the amp, you can write the command by yourself and push the command by any other device which can support i2c communication.

    Thanks for the information. I plan to use a different device to send the I2C messages, but unfortunately if PPC2 cannot show the register settings without the EVM board, it seems I'm stuck until I purchase the EVM board : (

    That's disappointing, since Analog Devices' DSP software provides the register values even without an EVM board connected, and I'd hoped it would be the same with TI PPC2.

    Oh well, it is what it is.

    Hi Yousaf

    How about trying PPC3 with our new chips.

    PPC3 can support offline tuning and you can read the register value even without EVM board.

    The chip TAS5825, TAS5805, TAS5806, they are the current generation after TAS5756.

    maybe can satisfy your request better.
