TAS5825M: Mother board burned when got power

I have been burned two mother boards successively

both of which were burned when the USB cable was connected to the NB and got power

because except for the USB LED lights

other LED lights can still light up normally

so it feels like the USB IC is burned out.

Are there any precautions or procedures for the USB power-on to mother board?

Hi Axl

Maybe the only procedure is to connect USB first before you power on PVDD. Without PVDD, we always connect or disconnect USB wire casually, no problem at all. Is it new mother board at your hand? Did you give PVDD voltage first?

I didn't give PVDD first in my impression,

I had order a new motherboard and waiting for delivery.

I will pay more attention about this procedure next time,

If the USB-LOCK LED does not light after connecting the USB, is it most likely that the TAS1020BPFB is broken?

Hi Axl

Yes, I think with high possibility, should be TAS1020BPFB broken. You can use multimeter to test the 5V and 3.3V on the board, they should be no problem.
