TAS5825MEVM: 4.1ch by 1 TAS5825MEVM

Part Number: TAS5825MEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5825M

Hi team,

I would like to plan to use TAS5825MEVM for 4.1ch.

TAS5825mEVM has 2 TAS5825MEVMs. Plan to use OUT1-OUT4 for 4.0ch and GPIO(I2S) (+external DAC and AMP) for 0.1ch.

Is it possible by TAS5825MEVM with PPCMB?

If it is, could you please tell me how to achieve it?

Best regards,

Yuto

  • Hi Yuto

Maybe you can take a try Stereo 2.2 W/T to achieve this.

but the problem is cannot get specialized signal for 0.1ch, it only can use the same signal with one of the TAS5825.

    thanks.

    Jesse

  • Hi Jesse,

    Thanks for your comment.

I think that it it is possible to control 2 TAS5825M independently, we can achieve this system by Stereo2.1 + Stereo2.0.

Is it possible? If it is, how?

It seems to be possible from other E2E post.

    Best regards,

    Yuto

  • Hi Yuto

    Yes, it is possible.

But Mother board can operate 1 amp at 1 time.

you need to config one of them first, then extract the config file, and connect Mother board to another Amp,

flash the file you extract for first one you configured at this time using i2c.

then you can let both Amp on board work.

    For example:

    2 amps address: 0x98, 0x9a. set 0x89 2.0ch, 0x9a 2.1ch

step1: connecting evm to ppc3 -> choose 2.1 configuration in ppc3 -> go to tuning and audio processing, you can config your tuning parameter at here -> go to End System Integration -> Dump xxx File -> Change i2c address to 0x9a, Burst: 128 -> click Dump to Output Window -> copy the code at the right side

step2: go back to home -> choose 2.0 configuration in PPC3 -> go to tuning and audio processing, config what you want for tuning

step3: open the i2c at bottom side of ppc3

step4: paste the code you just copied and execute.

step5: you can try to play a music, you should be able to see both chip work.

With this method, you can only config 0x98 with PPC3 real time, 0x9a configuration has to be configured separately and flash the code.

    thanks.

  • Thanks Jesse,

    We will try it.

Please let me ask you if we get additional trouble or concerns.

    Best regards,

    Yuto
