TPA3116D2: TPA3116D2 with very low loads

Hi Team,

Our customer is trying to feed a 40kHz signal (sinusoid, square) into a very low load (25mOhms, 5 uH) with at least 50W or more. He is considering the TPA3116D2 but he is afraid that the short circuit protection will kick in since it is designed for 4 Ohms load. Do we have a device would fit his application?

    Hi Danilo,

    The min load value is related to overcurrent limit threshold. If the load impedance is very low, with PVDD incensement, the output current will reach OC current threshold.

    For audio amplifier, I am afraid we do not have suitable device for this customer application.
